Established in 1897, the Sedalia Concert Band is the oldest arts organization in the community. They perform six free concerts at Liberty Park in the summer. Six concerts are presented by 45 - 50 musicians with the assistance of six invited groups or individual performers. These concerts give teachers, their students, and former students an opportunity to perform together for the multicultural and intergenerational crowd that gathers in the park to hear them play. It provides a training experience for young musicians and a challenge to improve their skills. The band is led by Brit Faaborg. For more information, call Helen Coffelt at 660-879-4945.
